Our Story

Baiame by Kahi was born from deep love, deep loss, and a determination to change the story for others.

In 2023, we lost our beautiful boy, Kahi, to suicide. He was caring, cheeky, creative and deeply loved by his family and friends. But like so many others, he fell through the cracks in the mental health system.

Kahi had a dream, to start his own clothing brand Baiame. So when we found some of his designs tucked away in his art books, we were inspired by his creativity and spirit to bring this dream to life in his honour.

Losing Kahi has left a hole that can never be filled. But from this heartbreak, something new began - a powerful purpose to create safe spaces, start real conversations and make change where it is needed most.

100% of Baiame profits are directed into the Kahi Simon Fund - a registered initiative committed to creating safe spaces for those struggling with mental health and helping close the critical gaps in the system that we experienced first hand.

Why Baiame?

In Aboriginal culture, Baiame is known as the Creator Spirit - the one who shaped the land, rivers and the sky.

For us, Baiame represents new beginnings, strength, and the quiet unseen work of building spaces for healing and well-being, empowering individuals and community.
